0:06Shailia StephensWe start off laughing. Oh, Lea, it's so good to see you. Welcome back, everyone, to a new episode of Time for You. Hi.
0:16Lea WernliHi.
0:17Shailia StephensLea and I have, um, been a little bit separated for a while because Lea was off on holiday. I was off on holiday. Um, I've missed you, Leah. How are you doing?
0:29Lea WernliMe too. I always miss you. I'm good. How are you?
0:35Shailia StephensI'm really good. Um, I'm in a very, very good feeling today. Um, yeah, yeah, I'm in a good feeling. And Leah came in today with, uh, humming and whistling and dancing, and she's already changed clothes. Yes.
0:52Lea WernliWe are twinning. We, we do that sometimes. We did that a lot. And today we have both floaty, stripy, and strappy, strappy. Yeah.
1:05Shailia StephensStripe is a— no, stripe is a platform. No, no, no. Stripe is the, is the form and then the straps. It's a stripy, strappy dress. The stripy strapless dress.
1:19Lea WernliYeah, yeah, yeah. I see. I learn every— and I learn every day.
1:24Shailia StephensSo guys, we have no idea what we're talking about in this first episode, except for that we are misusing this platform to catch up with each other. But we've warned you since day one. This is a very selfish project that we do to spend time together. And so you just have to deal with it. So you still just have to deal with this episode. Um, Lea, where should we start off? Like, what do you, what do you think?
1:51Lea WernliYeah, I'm— I don't know. It's— I, I just want to know, how, how are you? What is moving you? Um, are you seeing things? Are you having a good time? What are you up in life? So actually, just, um, Pick whatever you want to talk about and just go. Yeah, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm really deeply interested in Shelia and her life. Are you too, guys?
2:25Shailia StephensWell, if they're not, too bad, because I'm just gonna answer you. Yeah, Leah, this morning, um, when I was thinking about our podcast episode coming up in the afternoon, I was thinking of what, you know, you always say since I've known you is that that you are so grateful for having this understanding of the 3 principles, like how enormously grateful you are in everyday situations, in little moments where it just makes a difference that makes the difference.
2:57Lea WernliYeah.
2:59Shailia StephensAnd that is where I am at the moment. So, but in a good way, like, so don't get the wrong idea. I'm really deeply okay and really in a good feeling, like I said, and I've been having some Wonderful days this summer. Lots of swimming. Finally got back into my swim routine, which was a little bit difficult, like with Heiko being gone most of the week and me having the dogs all the time, just trying to find space. But we've really been having some challenges in Africa the last— gosh, when did we see each other last? Maybe 6 weeks ago?
3:35Lea WernliYeah. Yeah.
3:39Shailia StephensIt has just been some wonderful developments on the, on the one hand. I think I wrote you, like, on the one hand, so deep, deeply moving things. Like, we finished with our Advanced Track class in the refugee camp, and I was asked to meet with a few of the students afterwards, some people who were just wanting to improve their grounding and understanding.
4:02Lea WernliMm-hmm.
4:02Shailia StephensAnd we spoke for a month after, and they were just It was such an intimate, beautiful experience with really— I told them at the end of it, they're more grounded than me. They have—
4:14Lea Wernlithey've—
4:15Shailia Stephensthey're probably higher in consciousness on some— in some ways, in some levels than I am. Like, you guys are my teachers and not the other way around. And we just created a beautiful bond. And at the orphanage, the children were supposed to be off for the summer break.
4:31Lea WernliMm-hmm.
4:33Shailia StephensWell, they always are. And the donor who is sponsoring the orphanage right now, on our Monday call, asked, what are the kids doing on the break? And they said, well, nothing. You know, we just, we play out in the yard. You know, there's not anything. They never had any funds to do anything outside of the orphanage. And he said, well, what if you got to know the animals in your own country? Have you ever seen a— Lion, have you ever seen a zebra? They, they're from, you know, the orphanages in Kenya.
5:06And they said, no, we've never seen, uh, that. And so in the last 6 weeks, they organized, um, a big trip to go to a national park. And, um, they rented a big black bus and had golden letters on the side. And they were, they were more, they were almost more fascinated with the bus than they were with the animals at the end of the day. And they—
5:30Lea WernliI know that we always think That will be the thing for the kids. And then it's something completely different.
5:38Shailia StephensThey were fascinated by the bus. It's just not— they don't, they don't drive in vehicles, much less big buses. And the bus driver was playing music, and apparently it was— they told me it was thumping, thumping, thumping. And they said to me, oh, the energy was so good, Sister. We had to dance into the bus and on the bus. They were just Love it. They were just dancing. And they told me and also the donor, we had a meeting on Monday to hear their reports.
6:08And they told us in great detail which animals they saw in which order and the names of the animals, how long they had been in the rescue, like all, they were just, they were over the moon. So there's a lot of positive stuff happening. And at the same time, Oh, we had huge funding issues, um, in the last, uh, couple of weeks. And we had one of our biggest flagship programs that touches the most people in the refugee camp had no donor, no, uh, no donor in sight. Um, you know, 5 team members whose 24 children rely on those donations to eat.
6:51Lea WernliHmm.
6:53Shailia StephensJust a lot of stuff like that and having no clue how the heck we're going to get the money. Is it coming? Where is it coming from? And then also the long-term question of, okay, even if we get August covered, what about September and October and December and all the time?
7:09Lea WernliHmm.
7:10Shailia StephensSo that was, that was an interesting period where I think my, my understanding was really put to the test. And I have to say, I was in the most calm of states. I just thought, it's all good, it's all fine, it's gonna work out. Even if the money doesn't come in, they're deeply okay. They have internal resources, they have internal creativity to create possibilities for themselves.
7:45Lea WernliMm-hmm.
7:47Shailia StephensI was really in a smooth place, but some other people in the team were not. And, and, um, that was interesting to see. Um, you know, to notice that, wow, I've surprised myself being in a calm state and to see that I could have just as easily dropped and also been in a state of stress.
8:12Lea WernliMm-hmm.
8:13Shailia StephensUm, because of that. being the situation. But anyway, it all worked out in the end. We got a donor for a full year for the program.
8:22Lea WernliNo way.
8:23Shailia StephensAnd someone to bridge August. So mind showed up from somewhere and made it happen. So yeah, there was a lot of like highs and lows in the Africa project in the last 6 weeks. Yeah, and a lot of highs and lows in our family life as well. Yeah, go ahead, Leah.
8:44Lea WernliIsn't that always the case?
8:48Shailia StephensYeah. I—
8:52Lea Wernlithat's actually my summer to really see it from a meta, like, hmm, that's like always the case how things come into form.
9:06Shailia StephensYeah.
9:06Lea WernliAlways, always through all the stages of, yay, vision, yay, going forward, oh, sucks, oh no, anxious, hey, now it comes together, ah, love God, creativity come through us and the project, ah, done or not done or failing, new circle. So Isn't that interesting?
9:33Shailia StephensYeah.
9:36Lea WernliAnd, and to be able to be in that, that creation with another mind or another consciousness or another being, how we, we are in life. That's so cool. So like, to see it's never going to change, like the creation process of how all creation are coming into the world. It's always great and messy and amazing and difficult. And how we are able to evolve in that process. So it was so interesting when you just— I, because I'm studying that, I can't talk about it right now. Why not? You're going to talk about it.
10:30Shailia StephensYou're going to talk about it.
10:31Lea WernliI'm going to pull it. I would. Not now, I will. I will, but not now. And just what you said, and you said it in the Africa Project and at home and with my, your mother-in-law and love and with all of it.
10:49Shailia StephensAll of it.
10:50Lea WernliAnd how we can be in that.
10:57Shailia StephensYeah.
10:58Lea WernliAnd touched and untouched at the same time. I'm— that moves me.
11:05Shailia StephensTouched and untouched at the same time. I love that. That is, um, that's really good, Leah. That's exactly what it was— touched and untouched all at the same time. Yeah. And I love that you took it to the meta, Ebene, and I 100% agree with you.
11:23Lea WernliI always do.
11:25Shailia StephensI'm so sorry. No, no, no, it's so true. And I think what has been so amplifying for me, and maybe you have this in your life or not, and I'm going to ask you about your last 6 weeks in a few minutes, but the sheer fact that, you know, in the Africa projects, we're dealing with dozens, sometimes hundreds of people at once. And then if you've got like your clients and your potential clients and your family stuff, and you've— the more people that you get in contact with and that you have life connection with, the more you see that what you pointed out in the meta perspective is true because you see it in that life and that life and that life and here and here where we intersect.
12:09And then, you know, and you see it as just amplified. So 100% agree with you on that.
12:15Lea WernliAnd, and it, it, it changes something when we start to really see it like, oh, it's not the point that that changes.
12:25Shailia StephensYeah.
12:26Lea WernliIt's just the awareness and where am I in this process? Oh, ah yeah, in the anxious part. Oh, hi. Okay, and next. Oh, in the— that's the part I don't like. Oh, we need other systems and we need probably having a better look at circumstances or whatever it— oh, I'm here. Okay, interesting. And all, all these things that just show up while this universal process of creation is happening all the time, all the time, all the time.
13:07Shailia StephensYeah.
13:08Lea WernliSo, and, and, and on top, this human experience of high and low, being touched, not, not not going down the rabbit hole, but still feeling all the feelings and being present with— we had so amazing metaphors, Shelia, all the time when we also worked together, like this one eye closed, the sleeping dolphin. Like, I love them. And just, yeah. And then we can even open up both eyes for a summer, as you just described, like, Mm-hmm. being fully awake. knowing, yeah, maybe I will, I will also sleep a little again, and that's okay too, but on a different consciousness level. So, and not being afraid of, of being in this beautiful, messy, strange, weird process of life.
14:10Shailia StephensYeah, yeah, it really is a strange, messy glob. It's just, it's just a mess. And while you were just talking, I was thinking, yeah, and You know, it requires energy. It requires energy, you know, because when you're surfing in life, you, you're, it requires energy, you know, whether you're awake or half awake. And I was just thinking, I've really just been intuitively this last 6 weeks putting a lot of time and attention into just taking care of myself.
14:45Lea WernliYes.
14:45Shailia StephensYou know, sleeping well during the night and getting a good 8 to 9 hours of sleep.
14:50Lea WernliYeah.
14:51Shailia Stephensgoing on the long dog walks as much as I can, getting in the pool and doing the 45 minutes, you know, and taking time to sit with a neighbor with coffee or go out and have a little fun shop.
15:03Lea WernliYeah.
15:04Shailia StephensAnd that, that has become really clear to me too when you're— and this is just for me, like everyone has their own, their own energy, um, level. And, you know, some people can— some people have twice my energy. They don't have to stop and take a break, you know? But I really like taking those pauses and really just— because I know tomorrow I'm getting back in. This morning, I told you I was late for our podcast episodes.
15:33Lea WernliYes.
15:33Shailia StephensBecause I was like, okay, I get into our call with the orphanage and it's just like chaos. You know, the lawyer sent a letter back and half the information is missing. And what are we going to do to move the process forward? And I'm Taking an extra hour in the lunch break to, you know, make the thing. So yeah, just having that also, time and space, is so good. Taking care of myself.
15:59Lea WernliAnd I was just talking about that with my husband, and it was so interesting because for sure it's true that it was one law, like oneness, God through us in life. But, and we have free will, so it gets in our way all the time because we are freaking conditioned with all the shite. Everyone, because we're human. So saying, yeah, I just need to listen to myself. Yeah, well, then you listen to crap as well because you're conditioned and you are tired, and then you listen to your tired thinking and the mood of tiredness, and then you don't go swimming.
16:46So often the tools and systems are really helpful for a lot of people because then you don't have to rely on your messed up thinking or your moods or— and it is true, it's both. And if you really intuitively feel it, great, amazing, just do it. If you know, oh, I'm— And me too, I'm not that Good in the low. I really want to listen to not unmotivated things. Oh, then the system is probably better for me. Yeah, interesting. For now, not— maybe it changes. Yeah. And it's a really small thing, and I just love what you shared. And I do 200 squats a day at the moment.
17:38Shailia Stephens200? 200 squats?
17:41Lea WernliAnd I wouldn't have been able before. Because no, not today, and I'm tired, or my back hurts, or what, what the heck ever. Nowadays I just do them because I felt that's a good thing. I'm not in my training routine at the moment as, um, deeply as I used to be a couple of weeks ago, so I'm able to do that. And I don't think about it. Do I have all the moody thinking of low mood, of, uh, it's heat, it's—
18:20Shailia StephensIt's hot.
18:21Lea WernliIt's very hot outside, uh, I'm tired, my back hurts? Of course. And to just feel into it— is it real? Is there really something with my body? No, everything is fine. That's just story on I'll do it. And not to, not to question, not to think about it, not to, not to get involved with my effed up thinking or mood. It's so easy to do them. So easy. It's just having my butt down and coming up again.
19:04Shailia StephensI was waiting for you to say something.
19:08Lea WernliI know.
19:12Shailia StephensLeah gets her English, uh, some sometimes interesting words coming out. To get my ass on the ground.
19:20Lea WernliMy husband actually says, when he hears me coach, he's like, who the heck is that woman? That's not my wife because I curse like, like the failure girl I am actually.
19:35Shailia StephensYeah. So Okay, Lea, now I know you do 200 squats right now, but what else have you been doing the last couple of weeks? I know you were in Berlin. What's been going on?
19:47Lea WernliYeah, I mean, I'm, I have an eye infection as you can see, and that's exactly as well the things we were just talking about at the beginning. We were, we had a beautiful 3-week-long trip with our teenage boys. end, but there were a lot of things. I did reserve the not the right little hut. Do you say that? Hut in the woods? A little hütte?
20:17Shailia StephensA hütte, a little cottage in the woods or a cabin.
20:21Lea WernliSo I was like, oh, it's really cheap, it's very cool. And it was the smallest one with 2 big teenage boys, and we couldn't change. So it was really like for tiny, tiny kids and not teenagers with their parents. And it was fine, and we did find a way. And they— we had to change 2 or 3 times in this lodge because there was not— there were not like bigger ones just available, but it was okay. And we had a really fun time in this tiny, hot Little cottage.
21:02And, and my eye infection was so severe that I couldn't go into the sea. And, and it sucked, and it was okay because I was— there was a pool and I could walk in the woods and I did different things. So really, again, in another layer, it's always another layer of seeing.
21:26Shailia StephensYeah.
21:27Lea WernliI'm okay, and I can see something. And both end like— and again, I learned things, as always. I, I always learn.
21:42Shailia StephensWhat did you learn this time?
21:45Lea WernliActually, I know I learned, um, stuff like really how it works behind the scenes, like all of this creation and universal creation things. I'm not talking about Right now, but I will. And I learned what Shelia is actually very good at, and I realized I already know a lot of things because I give myself a year to have an online business, a real one.
22:12Shailia StephensYeah, a whole year. A year, that's not very long. I know.
22:17Lea WernliOkay, but I already have like things. Yeah, I don't know, in place, and I want to just tweak them and really see if, if there is a possibility to also implement what I already knew when we were working together. And now I just remember or see it a little different, or what could work for myself. And it's just a lot of fun as well, like really freeing myself up of—
22:47Shailia StephensYeah.
22:48Lea WernliSales is cool because then people who really want my stuff, they, they're able to buy it. So yeah, let's do that. Cool. And the other ones, they will never buy it, so I don't care. And you can listen to free things, and that's cool too. And to really also step into another form and more systemized, as you know, I— that's my weak point in a way.
23:18Shailia StephensNo.
23:18Lea WernliI'm very good in in making it happen and creating money and all these things, but also to, to scale and make it smoother in my way. Yeah. And still doing it like the Prosperous Coach way as well, like just because that's how my income and how I do it or how I did it. So I'm in this parallel—
23:44Shailia StephensWorld.
23:46Lea WernliWorld. And I learn and I love to be a student. I just love, love it. And I just love to know nothing and being with these women who are doing crazy shit. Like, yeah, cool, why not me? Maybe not, but why not? Okay, let's try. Let's have a look. Let's— and it was so interesting, Shelia, the principles or little tiny nuggets of the principles do show up in these very different circles as well. Yesterday, one of these teachers mentioned Rich Litwin and Steve Chandler and the Prosperous Coach, like, hey beginners, go there and just learn to, to invite and have the nos.
24:37It's very good because you need to have the one-and-one one-on-one coaching to see what people need. All these things we, we discussed over and over again. So yeah, just to see, hmm, interesting, they know somehow.
24:54Shailia StephensYeah.
24:55Lea WernliAnd on the same time, I free myself up from being a 3P whatever, like, because I did so many things also the last 7 years. And I just let myself off the hook. Like, I'm free. I do whatever the heck I do and what helps, and what helps my people or my clients. And, um, there is no restriction. And we always also need to piss the teacher off in a way to evolve and to change and to see new things. And that's a process. And because there is a loyalty in my— I've seen it deeply through this path.
25:44Shailia StephensYeah.
25:45Lea WernliSo I need to be loyal to the path. And no, I don't need to be loyal. And there was a teacher, and Ram Dass as well said it, steal from all of your teachers. You will piss them off, but it's very, very, very healthy and good because then new paths are, are craved or carved. Carved it, carved it. It comes through you into the world and do it the way you will do it and or would do it. So yeah, that's, that's very interesting at the moment.
26:26Shailia StephensOh, that's nice.
26:27Lea WernliAnd not to hide what I do or not to not speak about it publicly or not just like Yeah, having it all together or bring all of it to the table.
26:40Shailia StephensYeah, it's so funny. Every time I hear you talk about that, and I don't know if you noticed, but if you go back and listen to many of these podcast episodes, you've been saying more than once in some form that you're trying to free yourself from the 3 principles. And it's so interesting.
26:58Lea WernliFrom the idea of the group, that the principles are always there.
27:02Shailia StephensI know, I know. But also, Also, I feel like, you know, I know you long enough to know all of the many areas in which you're already trained, right? Whether it's energetic stuff or, you know, your family background with your witchy grandma and all that kind of stuff, like, and a million other things from Human Design. And I always see you as all of that. And I always think it's an interesting conversation for me to listen when people talk about it because—
27:34Lea WernliYeah.
27:34Shailia StephensBecause for me, whether you're an astrologist, whether you're an energetic healer, whether you work in the 3 principles, what we're all doing is we're, we're connecting to mind through us, right? It's, it's mind, the all, the all-oneness, um, the, the energy of all things expressing in every—
27:56Lea WernliTotally.
27:57Shailia StephensEvery creature, from, from a non-living rock to, to, uh, a sparkly Leia. Um, and why would there be any restriction around that? Why wouldn't it express in a billion different ways or 900 billion different ways? And so I always think it's so interesting when people feel somehow trapped or loyal to a certain understanding. And I always think that can't, that can't be helpful because, you know, if we, if we look out into the world, you know, people can hear different things from different people on different parts of their journey.
28:37Lea WernliYes.
28:37Shailia StephensSo somebody, or a lot of my clients who, you know, come and end up learning the 3 principles through me, they've already started that journey in the area of mindfulness. They've already started that journey in the area of yoga, or maybe the work from Byron Katie, or other, just other ways. Or they, they have it, they've been on a journey. And so that's all we're doing here.
28:58Lea WernliYeah.
28:59Shailia StephensWe're all just waking up to who we really are. That's the path, right? We're all looking within. Trying to figure out who am I here on this planet? Am I this body? Am I this body, Shellya? Or am I more than that? Am I the soul within? And what does that mean in this manifestation, right?
29:18Lea WernliYeah. And I love that. And I know that you've always been so free in that. And I really, really love that. I somehow reconditioned myself again. I was extremely free because I had like this huge bam to my head and It changed everything. Like, it was a first stage awakening for myself, not like a first stage awakening for the world, but for me. Like, and then there was a reconditioning and also to see that, like this, it needs to be clean and they want it to be taught really just the way Sydney Banks was talking about it. And there is a movement going on there.
30:07Shailia StephensYeah.
30:07Lea WernliAnd I felt like, I have my hands on the back to teach it. It was really like this prayer thing. I didn't like that that much, as you know.
30:18Shailia StephensI know.
30:18Lea WernliBut it just came through me, out of my mouth, and suddenly I was in this, ooh, there is a group and they know how, and no, and, uh, and, and, uh, one part of my brain did the shame thing again. And we, we know it and we see through, and then we We have to feel it through again, and then we have to be okay that people think you're not good, that's not okay. And just to, to be with all of these emotions while being a student and a teacher and just a human being and effing it up and doing whatever the heck wants to come through us simultaneously.
31:05Shailia StephensYeah.
31:05Lea WernliSo to that capacity is, it is somehow also the work, like, um, to, to, to be okay with all of that.
31:20Shailia StephensYeah, yeah, 100%. And you know, it's so funny, um, you know, in, in our work in Africa, you know, I, I work with Harry Derbitsky and Mark Williams and, and Jim Beck, and they're original students of Sydney Banks, like the, the course of 3P. And they do care very much about the purity of the 3 principles. And it's our highest mandate in the Africa projects. And I find myself fitting into that really easily and very well. In that project, I have no desire or inclination to bring in anything else. It's just the perfect doorway into a transformative conversation. Yeah.
32:07Lea WernliAnd I remember you really wanted to learn how to speak about it and how to express it and how to just come from this pure state in yourself. That was a vision and a desire you had. Yeah, I loved that so much.
32:23Shailia Stephens100%. And so it, it's like your, your path opened up and mine sort of not narrowed down. That sounds negative, but I really enjoy working in the purity of the principles. And I really have especially enjoyed the last couple of weeks and, you know, the different teaching classes that we have there and noticing how much I'm relaxing into that conversation in comparison to before. So yeah, but I just love that there's variety. But I do know that by speaking with— I can't think of her name right now, but a daughter of Linda Pransky and George Pransky, She was in Ilo's group for a while. Do you remember her name?
33:03Lea WernliErika?
33:04Shailia StephensErika is the one daughter.
33:06Lea WernliIt's not the daughter. Yeah.
33:08Shailia StephensAnd then there's another one. I can't think of her name right now. Oh, it's my perimenopause brain. I'm so sorry if the person is ever listening to this because we've talked quite a few times. But anyway, she was talking about how Sid would, you know, always be around back when she was growing up, right? When she was a little kid, like she was born knowing who Sydney Banks was. They were at his house all the time. you know, toward the end of his life, he did make a strong sort of claim around, we have to keep to the purity.
33:36Lea WernliI know.
33:37Shailia StephensAnd he put it very seriously onto people's hearts to keep it pure. And so a lot of the people who are, you know, the original students, they were definitely under that vein. And I think it's not so easy sometimes for them to consider otherwise, because it's just That's what Sid wanted. And they have an extreme loyalty to his memory and to his, you know, teachings and things like that. So yeah, it's interesting.
34:02Lea WernliYeah, it is. Yeah. And I always pissed the teacher off.
34:09Shailia StephensYou're used to that. Is that what you're trying to tell me, Lea?
34:12Lea WernliYeah. Yeah. And there always, there, I, that for sure, there, there is. Ah, tremendous, um, value to, to the purity of something, but it's never just the truth because it's always a human being. It's always through a human being, so it's never Source. And if it's true, then it's also true what you said just before, like it's always Source and mind through all of us expressing itself the way it And it expresses itself.
34:51Shailia StephensIt wants.
34:53Lea WernliIt wants. And whoo, what the heck? Now it wanted that, and now I'm pushed into that direction. Oh wow. And then the cycle starts again. Yeah, I don't want to, or do I really? Do I need to? Or for really that? Or whatever it is.
